Hello Pedro,

I'm not sure if the codecs are installed or not.  How do I check that? 
I can play YouTube videos on Totem without a problem.  In fact, they
play better in Totem than when they're accessed on the YouTube web page.

The url is: http://www.nasm.si.edu/events/lectures/webcast/archive.cfm. 
There is a list of lectures that may be selected.  The lecture files are
in .wmv format.  When I select a lecture, a separate window appears and
asks what applicaion I'd like to use.  Totem is the only application
offered.  Once I select Totem, it loads a separate window.  The
file loads and "buffers."  After the buffer sequence, the display shows
"play" mode.  However, elapsed time and total time are both 0:00 and the
video never plays.  I tried several of the lectures and none worked.

My download location on the rhythmbox preferences is my home folder. 
It shows as an Icon with my login name.
I call the default podcast folder (Podcasts). The folder is in my homes
folder by default, i did not create it. I guess it must have been
created when i set up my podcasts in rhythmbox.
sorry for the delay in my answering your last email.
I reinstalled rhythmbox  thinking that might fix the problem, but the
new instalation had all my previous settings in it. It was as though
nothing had changed. WHICH IT HAD'NT.

I WANT MY PODCASTS TO DOWNLOAD TO THE DEFAULT PODCAST FOLDER.

The download location for my podcasts stays at my home folder.

my attempts to change the folder to the default podcast folder fails.

when i brows to the podcast folder and select it, then close the player,
and re launch the player, my home folder is set to receive my podcasts.

i am using UBUNTU 8.O4

This problem refers to Rythmbox  Music Player 0.11.5
