[Bug 1241101] Re: Java crash in libglib-2.0 after upgrade from 13.04 to 13.10

2014-09-09 Thread jstammi
Concerning switching the oxygen theme please consider
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/java-
common/+bug/1205452/comments/20.

IMHO there are multiple reasons at the moment causing java applications
to SIGSEGV the reported way. This link shows AFAIS one of them.

[Bug 1205452] Re: Eclipse unusable in Kubuntu Saucy (almost immediate JVM segfault)

2014-09-09 Thread jstammi
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1241101 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1241101

I spent this morning on analyzing our application SIGSEGV'ing since
having upgraded my os (openSuSE 13.1, KDE). Though this is actually no
ubuntu, I think that this bug is related: IMHO with the symptoms that an
eclipse RCP application fails

1) within libgobject-2.0.so./g_object_get_qdata
2) from a java stack trace that includes
org.eclipse.swt.widgets.Combo.deregister

and switching the theme the GTK2_RC_FILES= way as given above prevents from
crashing. Then I'm quite sure that you will be able to stop crashing also by
disabling the GtkComboBox::appears-as-list
within the oxygen-gtk theme (/usr/share/themes/oxygen-gtk/gtk-2.0/gtkrc).
This makes comboboxes appear a little bit different, but the general lf stays
as before.

You can force this bug with any other theme by enabling this option
there - so the oxygen can only be blamed for using this option, it is
not the root cause of it AFAIS at the moment,

I filed a related GNOME bug
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=736323, an oxygen bug that
looks related very much is available at
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329814.

[Bug 698044] Re: Read receipt are sent though such were denied on request

2011-01-20 Thread jstammi
I disagree on the nor directly cause loss of data/privacy:

I own a domain let's say myname.net. As the owner/administrative contact person
I am obliged to receive mails to some functional mail adresses like
ad...@myname.net or webmas...@myname.net.
Additional I am the receiver of the wildcard-matched mails, those the address
does not exist for the domain. Let's assume the x...@myname.net is not
configured for this example.

The bad guy does send mails now to x...@myname.net and requests a read
confirmation.
Now with reading this mail with evolution I get asked if I want to send the
read confirm. Even with denying this, this cofirmation is sent and might be
received by the bad guy.

And now I lost some privacy - as this confirmation contains my valid and
existing email address not known previously to the bad guy.

Or do I miss something here?

[Bug 4181] Re: gam_server leaking memory on amd64?

2006-11-26 Thread jstammi
Seems as this bug affects amd64 on a up-to-date dapper drake, too. After
a weekend having left my machine running the gam_server process takes
~40% of my 2GB mem ... :-(.

gamin packeage version 0.1.7-3.

IMHO this is therefore more important then medium!
