Pedro,

Thanks for your feedback.

I had previously ran the 64-bit version of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx but due to
so many issues I switched to the 32-bit version (after 3 months of
trying). I continue to work on enhancing my 100% LINUX computer with
apps but only keep apps where I have resolved the quirks for stable
operation and proper functionality. I update my software regularily
with Update Manager. Bottom line, I am now able to play all my movies
with Totem Movie Player for the 32-bit but never with the 64-bit.

In the future (LTS 2012), I will retry using the 64-bit version to take
advantage of the Intel i7-860 CPU, but for now I will stick with the
32-bit. The 64-bit was too much of a headache to continue with.

Again, thanks - I continue to learn about LINUX and like it more all the
time. My next step in using gPodder with my iPod and using Skype.
Every program I use seems to have quirks that require ironing out.

Keep up the good work.

Once I gain enough experience I will start helping out the LINUX
community.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. A new version of GStreamer is available in both Lucid and
Maverick and we are wondering if this is still reproducible in any of
those versions, May you please test and give us of feedback about it?
 Thanks in advance.

[Bug 514594] [NEW] Scrabbled video when playing a std NA DVD. The intro screen is not scabbled, but the movie is. Evenually after perhaps 5 minutes an internal data overflow error occurs. Tried both

Public bug reported:

This is the first time I used Totem Movie Player 2.28.2, Movie Player
using GStreamer 0.10.25. I had to obtain some add-ins and later load in
two Ubuntu files. The Player plays MP3 files from my hard drive fine
now, but when a play a commerically bought DVD (North American) it plays
the title (intro) ok. When I select to play the movies main body, the
video is scrabbled (flicking square images with the actual movie image
imbedded). I tried the same DVD in my second DVD/CD Drive with the same
results. If the scrabbled image is left to run long enough (say 5
minutes), an internal data overflow error occurs and the Play stops.
My compute is brand new with a ASUS Motherboard with a Intel CORE 7i-860
processor with UBUNTU 9.10 loaded on by the vendor.

The video card is:
- ASUS EN210/DI/512MD2(LP) NVIDIA GF PCI-E 2.0, 512MB DDR2, 64B
with:
- LG CH08LS10 8XBD READ/16X DVD-RW Burner, SATA
and
- LG GH22NS50 SATA 22X/22X DVD-RW Drive

The extra information may not be required but it might. I look forward
to any solution you may have. Jay.
