This behaviour for me was totally related to an MS Exchange mail account
being active, Once disabled never happened again.

hplip (3.9.6b-1ubuntu4) to 3.9.8-0ubuntu1
hplip-cups (3.9.6b-1ubuntu4) to 3.9.8-0ubuntu1

Updated this afternoon at 15.38

[Bug 412425] [NEW] Evolution Calendar Refresh does not occur

2009-08-12 Thread kylea
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

2.6.31-5-generic #24-Ubuntu SMP Sat Aug 1 12:47:58 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
--
Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release:9.10

Evolution 2.27.90

Evolution Calendar has an option to Refresh the calendar from the .ics
file. There are 3 options

1. On Open
2. On File Change
3. Periodically

When Changes are replicated from Google Calendar via GCALDaemon the
calendar.ics file is updated

With option 1, the Calendar display is reloaded when Evolution is Closed
and Re-opended.

Options 2 and 3 do not seem effective.

Changes can only be reflected in the UI if I exit an re-start Evolution
GUI.

I can also confirm this behaviour in 64bit Jaunty, I have turned off the
loading of images and the Exchange connector.

I'll try a few combinations and see what (if anything) causes a repeat
of the problem)

Not sure if its related - but when I have a message open and select
"Load Images" - the display window does not visibly render anything -
although the mouse-over events fire as the status line changes as the
mouse is moved around the window.

I had been successfully syncing to my Nokia 6233 for two weeks - but

Pair up the phone and the Laptop (Dell E6500). But nothing else works.
It just seems to not want to stay connected. The phone has not been
updated so its seems to be something with Ubuntu.

I also get "Obex Push file transfer unsupported" from Nautilus 2.24.1
and bluetooth-sendto - see attached image

Here is was sdltool returns:

[Bug 285283] Re: Bluetooth file transfer to phone fails (from both Nautilus and Bluetooth applet)

2008-11-06 Thread kylea
I cannot get "sdptool browse" to work at all - it used to prior to RC of
Intrepid:

Here are my outputs:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# hcitool scan

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# hcitool inq

Inquiring ...

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# sdptool browse 00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44

Failed to connect to SDP server on 00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44: Connection reset
by peer

Now the sdptool browse has previously worked and syncing used to work
fine for the Calendar.

Maybe in all the attempts to get this working something is missing.

[Bug 412425] [NEW] Evolution Calendar Refresh does not occur

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

--
Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch)

Evolution 2.27.90

Evolution Calendar has an option to Refresh the calendar from the .ics
file. There are 3 options

1. On Open
2. On File Change
3. Periodically

When Changes are replicated from Google Calendar via GCALDaemon the
calendar.ics file is updated

With option 1, the Calendar display is reloaded when Evolution is Closed
and Re-opended.

Options 2 and 3 do not seem effective.

Changes can only be reflected in the UI if I exit an re-start Evolution
GUI.

[Bug 285283] Re: Bluetooth file transfer to phone fails

2008-11-01 Thread kylea
I had been successfully syncing to my Nokia 6233 for two weeks - but
this week it just stopped working. I have a 6110 and it used to work
too, but not anymore. If I discover Ubuntu 8.10 from the phone I can
Pair up the phone and the Laptop (Dell E6500).

00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44 Kyle6110

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# hcitool inq

Inquiring ...
00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44 clock offset: 0x068cclass: 0x5a020c

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# sdptool browse 00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44

Failed to connect to SDP server on 00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44: Connection reset
by peer

Now the sdptool browse has previously worked and syncing used to work
fine for the Calendar.

Maybe in all the attempts to get this working something is missing.

If you add:

[Bug 412425] [NEW] Evolution Calendar Refresh does not occur

2009-08-12 Thread kylea
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

2.6.31-5-generic #24-Ubuntu SMP Sat Aug 1 12:47:58 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
--
Description:Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release:9.10

Evolution 2.27.90

Evolution Calendar has an option to Refresh the calendar from the .ics
file. There are 3 options

1. On Open
2. On File Change
3. Periodically

When Changes are replicated from Google Calendar via GCALDaemon the
calendar.ics file is updated

With option 1, the Calendar display is reloaded when Evolution is Closed
and Re-opended.

Options 2 and 3 do not seem effective.

Changes can only be reflected in the UI if I exit an re-start Evolution
GUI.

00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44 Kyle6110

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# hcitool inq

Inquiring ...
00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44 clock offset: 0x068cclass: 0x5a020c

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# sdptool browse 00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44

Failed to connect to SDP server on 00:1B:AF:CA:BE:44: Connection reset
by peer

Now the sdptool browse has previously worked and syncing used to work
fine for the Calendar.

Maybe in all the attempts to get this working something is missing.

hear you say!!)

Well after mucking around with kdebluetooth4 and stuff - I down graded
all 4.25 bluetooth components to 4.12 as suggested by Alex and using
bluez-gnome - bluetooth worked !!!

Could pair and send files and use anyremote.

2009-08-07 Thread kylea
I'll venture a guess its one of these

hpijs (3.9.6b-1ubuntu4) to 3.9.8-0ubuntu1
hplip (3.9.6b-1ubuntu4) to 3.9.8-0ubuntu1
hplip-cups (3.9.6b-1ubuntu4) to 3.9.8-0ubuntu1
hplip-data (3.9.6b-1ubuntu4) to 3.9.8-0ubuntu1

Updated this afternoon at 15.38

I'll try and go back to the earlier versions

If you add:

http://ppa.launchpad.net/improved-lcd-filtering/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
to Repository and then refresh, you can then FORCE the version and
Synaptic will handle all the dependencies nicely.
