[Bug 402826] Re: File browser shows model number of one of my HDD and cannot acces from side pane but can from link on desktop

2010-04-22 Thread las
Im sorry about bad screen shot. This is what I expect when I go to
"computer:///".

 Current situ.

I have only two HDDs.one is 320 gb and other 160 gb.But when I go to "
computer:///" every partition of 160gb is shown as 160 GB Hard Disk:
"label" , and 320 GB Hard Disk: "label" for 320 gb hdd.Only if I don't
label paritiotions it shows "xx GB file system" In my screen shot its
shown as "320 GB Hard Disk: 22 GB Filesystem"

>From my first screen shot you can see that it shows partition size and
label.

My expectations

 " computer:///" to show

A) partition size +label

eg:- 22 GB : Home

or

B) partition size +label+drive

eg: 22 GB : Home :160 GB HDD

2010-04-02 Thread las
It went bad to worse ...no keyboard in x..keyboard stopped working at
gdm login..After using on screen keyboard I logged in but every time I
try to change keyboard pref it gives me

Error activating XKB configuration.
It can happen under various circumstances:
- a bug in libxklavier library
- a bug in X server (xkbcomp, xmodmap utilities)
- X server with incompatible libxkbfile implementation

X server version data:
The X.Org Foundation
10706000

If you report this situation as a bug, please include:
- The result of xprop -root | grep XKB
- The result of gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd

This is on lucid..now lucid totally unusable :-(

[Bug 12040] Re: GNOME "Main Menu" panel applet slow to open on first click (NOT compiz related)

2009-11-09 Thread las
As per

Karl Martin

"After installing the package 'xautomation' I used the following command
in session startup:

 xte 'mousemove 10 1040' 'mouseclick 1' 'usleep 10' 'mouseclick 1'
'mousemove 700 525'

This simulates two mouseclicks over the menu icon (open and close) with
a short delay (0.1s) in between and moves the mouse back to the centre
of the screen. If you have a smaller screen than 1400x1050 you will have
to adjust the coordinates.

Since I put this in session startup the menu opens without delay as it
has already been opened at startup.

However, this is a dirty workaround and a real fix would be greatly
appreciated."

I added sleep time before xte line and saved as a exec'ble file and used
" sh 'path to file' " with out quotations in startup applications and
trick worked.Thanx

eg:
sleep 5
xte 'mousemove 1275 10' 'mouseclick 1' 'usleep 10' 'mouseclick 1'
'mousemove 700 525'

mine is 1280x1024 and menu is located top right. You might want to adjust
sleep time according to needs(its in sec's)
