[Bug 808106] Re: Shortcut for changing tabs should be Ctrl-PgDn/PgUp
I don't understand. In the upstream bug report it is stated that Ctrl- Alt-PgUp/PgDn is part op GTK. I tested it and indeed it works with both gedit and nautilus. However, nautilus does also have Ctrl-PgUp/PgDn. Is that part of GTK also or is it a specific implementation of nautilus? [Bug 873191] Re: Ubuntu starts with lowest brightness on HP G62[regression]
By sheer coincidence (what are the odds?), I happen to have 2 optically identical HP G62's, one with a Intel-card and one equipped with ATI. Both suffer from the same brightness problem, very weird indeed. The remark of Ian at #10 might be correct: maybe the drivers are mixed up, in a way neither of the gfx's work. As I happen to have both machines at the same time (they are from people who asks me to put Ubuntu on it), I can do tests on both machines, which could help in solving this bug. [Bug 439448] Re: visual corruption affecting several panel applets
In my situation, the sound icon has disappeared, whereas most people are complaining about doubling the sound icon. It is really quite odd, because the sound icon is part of the indicator-applet, and other indicators like network manager are (still) visible; that means that somewhere, the configuration of that particular applet has gone wrong. Furthermore, the distance between the applets which have gained (by design) in 10.04, is back where is was before: now the applets are positioned right next to each other, just like it was in 9.10. [Bug 137606] nautilus in lookup mode has no icon view
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus When using nautilus in lookup mode, i.e. browse for a file for opening or selecting, the list of files is always in list mode. [Bug 85780] Re: gThumb selection for red eye reduction does not work
After examining this behaviour again (as you pointed out) I can not make a selection. I *thought* I should make a selection, because the label on the right upper side says 'Selection'. As it turns out, this is a position and not a selection (should have 4 points and not just 2). Next, I just clicked in an red eye area and nothing happened. Guess my problem is two sided: - red eye removal does not work at all (at least, it seems to in my case) - label 'Selection' should be 'Position' to prevent user errors (not critical) As I mentioned before, I recall this functionality has been working before. [Bug 86233] Re: nautilus uses filenames over network (for speed reason)
Currently, my real problem seams to be this: I cannot open a (bash) file with gedit through Nautilus. First try: double click. Because Nautilus has no knowledge about the file type, this is the error message I get: Cannot open ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/usr/local/sbin/3a-transcode: No application suitable for automatic installation is available for handling this kind of file.. This can be considered as normal because of the unknown file type. Second try. Make a file association to this file: Right click, Properties, Open with, Add, Select 'Text editor'. This does not work because the selected program cannot be added, probably because the file type is unknown. Error message: Could not add application to the application database. This can be considered as normal because of the unknown file type. Third try. Right click, Open with another application, select 'Text Editor'. I get the same message as when I'm trying to change the file association (see second try): Could not add application to the application database. This cannot be considered as normal because I want to open the file only *this* time with the selected application. Fourth try. Open gedit, browse to the ssh'ed file and open it. This works. My guess that this is my problem: just because Nautilus cannot add the application due to the unknown filetype, blocks me from opening a file with a application of my choice. Ofcourse, if SSH gives the correct file types back, this problem is not likely to exist. Note. This optimization which you mention is for SSH connections only?
