I have the same problem after I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10. Usually I edit the files I opened via a Nautilus FTP connection in Gedit. [Bug 262190] [NEW] gedit doesn't search for ß character
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gedit In german language, there's a character ß which also can be substituted with ss. If I search for the ß character in gedit (e.g. to substitute it with szlig; html code) there will be all ss found and further the ß with it's next character in the line.
