[Bug 634571] Re: vinagre fails to connect to any VNC server

2010-10-01 Thread mrAshley
Is this going to be fixed for 10.10?

I can confirm vinagre won't connect to two 10.04 machines and an OS X
machine on my LAN. Additionally it won't connection to the localhost
(which is the only 10.10 machine I've got handy).

I hope this'll be tidied up before the final release as it's a bit of a
show stopper for anyone who supports other people remotely.

[Bug 328864] Re: rythmbox plays a short piece of a song and skips to the next song in order

2009-04-23 Thread mrAshley
Here is my own attachment for this bug. Oddly it's only happening on one
of my two computers. And it happens with two different programs, Exaile
as well as Rhythmbox. Interestingly if I share the songs over the
network with Rhythmbox and then play the sound back on the original
computer with pulseaudio there is no problem whatsoever.

The pertinent bits seem to be:

[Bug 255957] [NEW] Evolution calendar:///?startdate flag unforgiving

2008-08-08 Thread mrAshley
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

When using gnome-clock if you double clock on a date and check your
running processes you'll get something like this:

evolution calendar:///?startdate=20080827T-05Z

Note this is a day in the future at the time of this writing. Evolution
doesn't know how to deal with the time information passed, as so it
defaults to today's date, which can be confusing if you had expected
Evolution to open on the selected date from gnome-clock.

What I would perhaps suggest as a better method is if evolution were to
look at the date information and just open that date. If it doesn't
understand the time details, just disregard those, and open to the date.

Description:Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release:8.04
Clock is version 2.22.2
Evolution is version 2.22.3.1

[Bug 255957] Re: Evolution calendar:///?startdate flag unforgiving

2008-08-08 Thread mrAshley
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 66028 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/66028

I believe this duplicate status is in error. I was aware of the 'wrong
date' bug when I posted this.

The 'wrong date' bug might be more accurately labelled the 'wrong time'
bug as Evolution opens the correct date, but does so either ahead or
behind a day because of a different implementation of time zone
handling.

By contrast this bug is reporting that Evolution is wholly disregarding
(presumably not understanding) the date and time given to it by gnome
clock, and so defaults to 'today'.

To clarify this I'll give two examples.

Wrong date bug example: I double click on Feburary 14, 2008 and
Evolution opens Feburary 13, 2008 because Evolution thinks it is in a
different time zone.

This bug: I double click on February 14, 2008 and Evolution opens August
8th, 2008, because the information passed to Evolution is not understood
at all so Evolution defaults to today's date.

[Bug 139627] Re: Clock applet and evolution

2008-02-03 Thread mrAshley
I have the same problem with Gutsy.

I double click on a given date in Gnome's Clock applet, and when
Evolution Calendars opens it shows up as the day before.

Example: I double click on Tuesday February 19th, and Evolution Calendar
opens on the 18th. The scheduled appointment opens on the right day,
it's just that somehow when Clock asks for the date from Evolution we
end up with a different one. I don't think it's a time problem.

If it's helpful to mention I have the workweek on Clock starting on
Monday. I did this by changing the locales en_CA file under the LC_TIME
section I have put 'first_weekday 2' and 'first_workday 2' on their own
lines above the rest of that section. I commented those lines out (for
the default Sunday week start) and I had the same problem as before.

I would *guess* that when Clock asks for a date from Evolution one or
the other is subtracting one from the numerical value of the date being
passed. Just my two cents.

Thanks. :)

[Bug 139468] [gutsy] Totem fullscreen changes monitor refresh rate

2007-09-13 Thread mrAshley
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

I am using Gutsy, which I understand is testing still, but if I set
totem to fullscreen mode it changes my refresh rate. I have tried this
on two different resolutions and it does the same thing. When I exit
fullscreen mode it additionally does not return my refesh rate its prior
state.

This is a problem because a movie player shouldn't be changing someone's
screen settings. I know how to set them back, but I also know some
people don't.
