[Bug 174599] Re: (GUTSY) Typing sudo in run applications dialog box freezes system

2008-05-08 Thread nowshining
sorry but i'm on not using Hardy Heron. Alas awhile back I switched to
kubuntu of which i haven't seen the problem (as far as I know), also the
reaon i've not been posting is because i'm updated a few things or so on
my own that would dis-qualify me for reporting bugs, however I could
help others I guess..

nontheless this bug can be closed. :)

[Bug 174599] Re: (GUTSY) Typing sudo in run applications dialog box freezes system

2007-12-14 Thread nowshining
why was this declined for Gutsy:

Bugs which may, under realistic circumstances, directly cause a security
vulnerability - i'm guessing Freeze the system - easy - anyone - Local DDS by
local user:
Bugs which represent severe regressions from the previous release of Ubuntu -n/a
Bugs which may, under realistic circumstances, directly cause a loss of user
data: can if anyone is working on any data uses the run applications dialog box
& then accidently types sudo instead of gksudo = data lost or someone in
somewhere public someone can walk by or use the compuer and freeze the systems
that simply on any account.

The most important being esp. if a public place has ctrl + alt +
backspace disabled it will require loss of work - and a press of the
computers power button.. I suggest this be fixed in gutsy itself if it
can't i'd like to know exactly why.

[Bug 162433] Re: Memory leak on totem in Ubuntu 7.10

2007-11-24 Thread nowshining
i had other apps open but just instant messaging - movie and system
monitor on one side with of course amor running, and so the memory
started at about 150-155mb - opened up totem it went to at about 160mb
and played a movie BW it went to about 163mb so I assume 163 - 165 or
2mb more would be normal, however it then slowly creeks up to higher and
higher it went up about 20-30mb more by doing nothing else or just
sending messages and typing which is odd or even doing nothing at all no
mouse moving, just watching it fluctuates higher and hten goes LOWER at
times and higher or goes up higher then higher, example 163.9 then 163.8
then 163.9 then 164.2 then so forth higher and then higher which it
shouldn't keep fluctuating by doing nothing else on the
computer.except sitting there watching

[Bug 139775] Re: (Gutsy) nautilus right click create Empty File

all updates and by the way this is not a duplicate - i said empty file -
as they said right click and open with gimp doesn't work - it works fine
for me just that and double clicking a text file doesn't ask to open or
display, etc.. i have to right click.. so when do all updates get
applied upstream a week later - ??

oh didn't see that one :) thanks but the invalid part would of been
better at duplicate - as invalid means it doesn't exist which it does.
and oh wow on the nautilus team - well i do have sound that sucks and
sounds bad.. However that's for another team, and some others, i see if
any are reported yet or not later on..

[Bug 139775] (Gutsy) nautilus right click create document off

2007-09-15 Thread nowshining
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

When right clicking on the desktop in Gutsy 2.19.91 has a problem where
again right clicking on the desktop or anywhere and only maybe once or
twice does it work but other times it will not - I'm talking about
create empty file, two ways found to workaround this bug..

http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=550149

all info. found there but the two ways was mine

Left click on the white box next to Create Document and the Small icon
next to empty file afterwards without exiting the menu

the other was to

Right click on the word Empty file

both work to create what the desired action was suppose to be.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
