[Bug 272780] Re: GNOME file chooser slow to respond

2008-10-22 Thread prash_n_rao
how do I do that? I did the following:
$ gdb `which gedit`
(gdb) run
This just told me about threads starting. How can I get the stacktrace while
it's hanging?

I gave up trying to figure out this issue. I reinstalled Ubuntu.
Everything seems to work fine now.

[Bug 272780] [NEW] GNOME file chooser slow to respond

2008-09-21 Thread prash_n_rao
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome

Description:Ubuntu 8.04.1
Release:  8.04
Package: All programs that use the GTK file chooser (gedit, Firefox,
OpenOffice.org, etc.)

Problem:File Open dialogs and File Save dialogs don't respond for about
25 seconds when they come up.
The behavior is quite similar to Bug #218230. Except that I have uninstalled
nfs-common and tracker.
Executing -->
$ python filechooser.py
$ strace -tt -T -o /tmp/trace python filechooser.py
$ perl -ne '/<(\d+\.\d+)>/ && print "$1 $_"' /tmp/trace | sort -n | tail -2

does not report any specific calls that take a significant amount of
time to execute.

** Affects: meta-gnome2 (Ubuntu)

[Bug 744912] Re: eog crashed with SIGSEGV in calloc()

It happens with any image at all. I discovered that it only crashes when
the "Map" plugin is enabled.
