Same problem on Ubuntu 19.10 and galaxy S9 plus. I tried to play some videos via usb cable and during the transfer Ubuntu froze the screen. Having the same problem today. Also tried in a second computer wich runs Fedora and the same error is showing. Looks like it is not only affecting Ubuntu.. In my case, I was trying to record an audio CD. I found out that gdm3 will not start if sddm is installed. First, this is a very nice and colorful but eyefriendly theme, Nicolo. ;) This should be the default theme of ubuntu. Second, i like your opinion and this were really neutral and not persistent icons, if the emblems are embedded in the folder-icon (like your home-icon). i looks not persistent (like your screenshot with the emblems on the edge) and beautiful at the same time. really really nice!!
