Same issue running 16.04 on my Samsung S5 running Marshmallow.

libmtp error:  could not get object handles.

I don't have have USB Debugging enabled (confirmed in Dev options) so
this just makes Ubuntu unusable for this task.  Is there anything in the
works?

Is this possibly the same as: Bug #749776

I can successfully middle click on Home in Unity to start another window.
I can minimize, maximize, restore without issue.
I cannot close any of the Nautilus windows.  (I can see the X depressing when I 
click it, but it does nothing)
I cannot click on any of my Desktop icons. (I can but they don't highlight as 
selected)
I cannot click on any icons in the Nautilus windows (same as Desktop icons 
above)

I am having this issue in 10.10.

This was reported like 5 years ago!
I can't wait to get away from some GNOME development with Unity for reasons 
like this.

I use hidden panels with Full screen VirtualBox windows.

This is nearly a showstopper and is preventing me from using linux on
our security technician's computers.  (too hard for them to understand
why a panel wont go away) (they simply see Ubuntu / Linux as broken)

Figure it out GNOME.
