[Bug 1712188] [NEW] Ubuntu 17.10: Cannot use shelltile extension in Ubuntu Session while it works fine in Gnome Session
Public bug reported: On Ubuntu 17.10 with artful-proposed enabled, I cannot use the shelltile extension in Ubuntu session. If you see the screenshot, it seems like both shelltile and gnome's built in tile feature work at the same time and the gnome's one is preferred (enabling shelltile from gnome-tweak should disable the built in functionality). However, shelltile works properly on Gnome session. I don't know if I should file this bug against gnome-shell or gnome- session (if I've understood correctly ubuntu-session is a sub package of gnome-session). [Bug 1711657] [NEW] Add a vertical mark/line at shell's sound slider which indicates where 100% of volume is, when the option "allow louder than 100%" is enabled at settings
Public bug reported: This is about the new changes about sound in Artful, where the volume slider is able to get higher than 100% (when the option is enabled at settings). Add a vertical mark/line at shell's sound slider which indicates where 100% of volume is, when the option "allow louder than 100%" is enabled at settings. I am experiencing what Dmitry Pashkevich (dipish) describes in comments #414 and #416. Alt+Shift layout switching worked with packages from the official repos. On 1st February 2014, gnome-settings-daemon:amd64 was updated from 3.8.5-0ubuntu11.1 to 3.8.5-0ubuntu11.2 and something broke. [Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10
Is there a latin letter T in the russian layout? There is a letter T in the Greek layout. Also, terminal in Greek translates to τερματικό, both words start with a letter T. So, there is no excuse for the Ctrl-Alt-T Unity shortcut not working in Greek layout. Ok, they are not identical, you are right. But it doesn't matter, actually. What matters is that the *physical* keyboard shortcuts like Ctrl-Alt-T or Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V should just work no matter what the current layout is. [Bug 498839] Re: No keyboard indicator applet shown after install with Greek kb
The indicator applet should be added to the panel automatically after installation, ONLY if the user has selected during installation a different keyboard layout. So the applet shouldn't be there by default for all installs. Other operating systems, such as Windows do this, and users migrating from there expect this behavior. From my experiences with new Ubuntu users, they are having difficulty adding the applet them selfs, because it's not well advertised that you can add additional applets in the panel. It's kind of a hidden feature. Also the keyboard configuration app, doesn't provide a way to add the applet or mention of its availability. You are right Pedro that it has never been there, so consider this bug a wishlist item. Tell me if you need additional details. Hi Seems to me that you're referring to another bug. What I've observed is that the Network is working but not predictably. For example, if you login and go to nautilus - network, it is empty. If you leave things as they are for 5-10 minutes, then try again, there are some things appearing. I dont browse the network, I usually map the drives directly with smbfs. However, I did notice this behavior so maybe you should watch out for it - leave it as it is for 5-10 minutes, then open Nautilus - Network again Maybe it is dependent on the number of machines on the network? For us it is more than 200... On Thu, May 22, 2008 at 2:47 AM, obscure_detour [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: Well it fixed it for the most part. Thank you thanos for uploading the patched file. Apologies for the omission, it was too obvious for me that the file should become chown'ed by root:root and executable... -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 108656 2008-05-08 12:06 /usr/lib/gvfs/gvfsd-smb- browse -- nautilus does not display samba shares for machines inside an ADS network. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207072 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is the registrant for gvfs. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Some things to check: 1. Make sure that the executable is replaced and no Update Manager has done any updates. 2. With ref to comment #31, it seems that either a) the instructions from #21 are not followed - please retry b) the machine is not updated or is updated with newer version of gvfs Some things to check: 1. [Bug 207072] Re: nautilus does not display samba shares for machines inside an ADS network.
Hi Attached is the 42K gzip'ed executable compiled for i386 32bit Hardy ONLY. It is virus free and when gunzipped has the MD5SUM of 77081f6e6dcc42448c5de355132ad582 Should be copied as per instructions in #21 (steps 10,11), and works for me up to now (no updates pending). *** HIGH RISK DISCLAIMER *** use at your own risk, no guarantees either expressed or implied. [Bug 207072] Re: nautilus does not display samba shares for machines inside an ADS network.
Being horribly impatient, I've compiled it myself following instructions from comment {https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gvfs/+bug/207072/comments/21}. Seems that it now works and my problems are solved. If there is popular request I can provide the binary, even here, it is only 42KB gzipped. -- nautilus does not display samba shares for machines inside an ADS network. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207072 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is the registrant for gvfs. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Hi When can we know for sure if a fix for this will go to the hardy mainstream? Otherwise, can the person that built the patched gvfs backend post the binary somewhere? [Bug 159704] file-roller add a file via drag-and-drop broken in gutsy
Public bug reported: Hi Consider the following scenario works: Archive.zip with files: test1.txt test2.txt lib/test3.txt lib/test4.txt nautilus in directory /home/stuff/ and one file there, test4.txt (note the file name). 1. in file-roller, you are viewing lib/ directory (test3.txt and test4.txt only visible). 2. in nautilus, select from /home/stuff the file test4.txt via single click 3. drag file test4.txt from nautilus to file-roller (normal drag-drop operation). Expected: file-roller updates lib/test4.txt (this works OK in feisty) Actual behaviour: file-roller adds new file test4.txt in root archive directory in gutsy, ignoring that archive is currently in /lib directory. Please help - this is very annoying and the only workaround is to add a full directory structure with the file needed! ** Affects: file-roller (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- file-roller add a file via drag-and-drop broken in gutsy https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/159704 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for file-roller in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 159704] Re: file-roller add a file via drag-and-drop broken in gutsy
Hi Appreciate the immediate response and given workaround; it is primarily a usability bug: imagine if this operation needs to be done on 5-10 archives on a daily basis and has been as such for 6+ months. It is totally mechanical for the user.
