[Bug 532633] Re: [light-theme] please revert the order of the window controls back to menu:minimize, maximize, close

2010-03-17 Thread vladimir prieto
I would like to experiment in 10.10 with some innovative options there

it's been 1 day using the left design buttons order, and it have been
terrible (and i'm not a newbie). it would be easier to get use to it if
the pain of making this change would give me something in exchange.

i mean, if i got new functionalities or make my life easier, or at least
know when and how would i be benefit from it, then the change would be
reasonable.

change it just for experiment make no sense to me.

[Bug 416731] Re: Long filename unreadable by Windows but can be read by Ubuntu

2009-09-25 Thread vladimir prieto
i got this bug too, even when uncheck Increase compatibility with
Windows System option.

i'm using Ubuntu 9.04

by the way, i used k3b to get out of the trouble, and when click burn,
it warns me about the name of the DVD (not filenames). Brasero doesn't
warn me about this.

[Bug 358780] Re: folder stop responding

2009-04-23 Thread vladimir prieto
i got the same behavior over here and it happens with all folders.

i think it got something to do with quantity of files and folder inside
of the folder we are clicking on. the more files and sub-folder, the
more time it takes to respond. if there tooo much, it stop responding.

[Bug 56606] Re: critical bad copy command

2007-01-07 Thread vladimir prieto
i made the same test over an edgy fresh install with ntfs-3g (this time
i test it with ntfs not fat32). this is my fstab config to that ntfs
partition :

UUID=587C194D7C192772 /media/sda5 ntfs-3g
silent,umask=0,locale=es_CL.utf8,no_def_opts,allow_other,gid=46 0
0

the test work!

i made a copy with nautilus just like before from the windows partition
to ext3 partition, and everthing was well pasted. even when it first
made a delete of the destination files (the ones that were there
before), everything were there with correct names.

maybe was ntfs-3g, maybe was the fstab config, maybe was edgy...don't
know, now i only know that IT WORKS!

thanks any way.

[Bug 56606] Re: [Bug 56606] Re: critical bad copy command

2006-09-07 Thread vladimir prieto
2006/9/1, Daniel Holbach [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

Thanks for your bug report. Which version of Ubuntu and nautilus do you
 use.

ubuntu dapper 6.06 (think now is 6.06.1 cause i have intalled all updates
since i upgrade to beta version), and nautilus...the one that came with
dapper...i think is 2.14.3

What is your problem exactly?

replacement of files doesn't work at all, when something goes wrong.

i've been trying to reproduce the error, but it only works with my
files.

how can i see some log to see where/how exactly is the error produced?

the only thing i can tell you, is that as i can see the error goes like this
:

copying files on some destination, where the same filesnames already exists,
nautilus first delete them (obviously cuz i choose to) and then began the
copy.

so, if something goes wrong, all the rest of files won't be copied (because
of the error), and also the others won't exists cuz they were previously
deleted by nautilus.

[Bug 56606] critical bad copy command

2006-08-16 Thread vladimir prieto
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

i got my music (over 40G) structure as follows :

80's - on 2 folders : '80-84' and '85-89'
90's - on 2 folders : '90-94' and '95-99'
and so on...

on each one of them i got the following sub-folders :

ballads, rock, dance, pop

then i select 3 of this main folders ('85-89','90-94','95-99') and
pasted them on a backup hard disk. as a backup hdd, it had much of the
same folders and files, so it came up a dialog, of what i wanted to
do...i choose replace them all (this is a translated option, don't know
exact words in english).

the copy stop at some point of the first copy folder ('85-89'), and it
didn't copy the rest of it. even more, it removes the rest of the
files. so on '90-94', for example, i got the other 4 sub-folders with
nothing at all inside of them!!!

then, i made some test...

1º i made a copy on destination hdd (the backup hdd), but before i
delete all files and folders. the copy was good.

2º made a copy on destination with already existing files and folders
(the same file and folders), the dialog appears and choose the
same...replace them all. the copy stop again at some point.

3º made a sub-folder copy to destination with already existing copy, the
copy fails again with some file.

4º made a sub-folder to sub-folder copy (i get into de subfolder, so i
saw just files, no folder). the replacement copy works over the existing
files.

so i did this last one over the rest of the sub-folders.

some notes on this bug :

- source folder is on fat32, destination folders are on ext3.
- large filenames, like :

Whitney Houston - i wanna dance with somebody - 12''.mp3

(didn't include the path)

- iso8859-1 characters filenames. like :
Zalo Reyes - Motivo Y Razón.mp3
(but this type of files are copied anyway with the 4º method)

with more time, will try to do it on command line. but some guy take
this to be in contact. cu
