Public bug reported: evolution uses something called "system timezone" per default. This appears to be the timezone defined by /etc/localtime.
This is odd, and entirely different from all other software, that uses $TZ, and only looks at /etc/localtime as a fallback. Explanation: I use UTC for /etc/localtime, because logs, statistics etc. should be recorded in UTC (being a monotonic timescale). "Local time" is only for users, so I set the TZ environment variable at login time. This works fine with GNOME, all CLI programs, Firefox etc. Evolution seems to be the only exception. ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1021829 Title: Strange choice of "system timezone" as default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/1021829/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
