What version of Ubuntu do you use? [Bug 105250] Re: Crash by itself
I am still using Edgy (6.10). Not planning to upgrade to Feisty in the near future. But if you think the problem is resolved in Feisty, we can close this case for now and I report the problem again if it happens in Feisty. [Bug 105250] Re: Crash by itself
It seems ubuntu has just updated my libX11 library so the backtrace may not look very good. Anyway, attached is the backtrace with libpango debug symbols. Thanks! ** Attachment added: Backtrace with libpango debug symbol http://librarian.launchpad.net/7364829/gdb.log -- Crash by itself https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105250 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 105250] Re: Crash by itself
I had the package libpango1.0-0-dbg installed when I created the backtrace but symbols for libpango were still not included in the backtrace. could you try with the dbgsym instead? do the libpango1.0-0 version number matches the dbg one? -- Crash by itself https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/105250 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

There is no dbgsym package. Gnome-panel crashed again for no reason (was using vmware) but forgot to run valgrind. Tried to run backtrace and hope this can give you some insights. Thanks for your bug report. [Bug 105250] Re: Crash by itself
Just wondering how I can run valgrind with gnome-panel. The gnome-panel launches itself when I log in to my GNOME desktop. Should I kill the gnome-panel after I login and then launch it again with valgrind? Thanks!
