without a backtrace is very difficult to know what's going on, closing
this report for now, feel free to re open it if you can give us a
backtrace indicating the crash.

can you run nautilus under gdb, do Ctrl-C when it uses 100% of CPU and
then get a backtrace?

[Bug 135490] Re: nautilus crash opening directory with a spefic tif

2007-09-04 Thread Giorgio
That's exactly what i said in the post before: the crash was not given,

'program exited normally'
and then i saw the nautilus window appearing, with empty content on the file
box,
and the processor going 100% until i force exit

at this time is it better i wait for gutsy official release or can it be
interesting to discover the problem?

The thumbnail is created correctly on gutsy, could you try to get the
backtrace of the crash?

[Bug 135490] Re: nautilus crash opening directory with a spefic tif

2007-09-03 Thread Giorgio
INTERESTING!

i was root
(sudo bash)
for an apt-get and i tested again the error,
nautilus . in the directory of the tif file and
nautilus went correctly and the preview showed up

then i switched back to user mode (exit the root bash)

and nautilus . gave again the eternal 100% processor situation

user i was using: superuser
ls -lha of that dir:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/prova$ ls -lha
totale 64K
drwxr-xr-x 2 superuser superuser 4,0K 2007-09-03 14:22 .
drwxr-xr-x 44 superuser superuser 32K 2007-09-03 14:04 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 superuser superuser 3,5K 2007-09-03 14:24 gdb-nautilus.txt

gdb-nautilus.txt attached.

. is the local directory where the tif file is

interesting the fact that when running the log said:
'program exited normally'
and then i saw the nautilus window appearing, with empty content on the file
box,
and the processor going 100% until i force exit
