This also goes for shared configuration in 6.06 to 8.04 - i.e. sharing your profile between LTS distro's is not possible. I could track this down to the gconf /apps/evolution/calendar setting named "sources"; If I'm right, there are three candidates left: color_spec="#DDBECE" So deleting all three helps; but it's most likely just one of them that crashes Evolution.
