If you click outside it, it should be closed. This is what this bug says. But why it isn't closed? Because it isn't focused, due to #176892. If you open tracker-applet, click on the window so it's focused, and then click on your desktop, then the applet will be closed. Emilio, I do not think bugs #176892 and #178376 should be marked as duplicates of this bug. This bug is about closing the tracker notification icon and the others are about the focus on tracker when the icon is clicked.
