I really don't know about plug ins. the updaates also seem to hang up. I have added some but when they don't work I take them out. Why doesn't it have the things to make it work. Do I have to program it. If so how do you write the programs. That is way over my head. When you open a media file which requires additional plugins, it automatically downloads the necessary plugins and installs them, provided you agree to do so. A few of the media file formats require non-free plugins/codecs and hence are not enabled by default. If you are ok with using non-free codecs, they are enabled and used for you.
