This is still an issue in 2.32.2. Every few months Evolution decides to redownload every E-Mail in my GMX POP3-Account...which is a little bit annoying because I have 4k+ E-Mails in there. There are plenty of reasons to get duplicate messages in any mail client, so please add the feature to get and remove duplicate messages. The existing plugin "evolution-remove-duplicates"(http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=384338) is not compatible with Maverick. A model could be the "Remove Duplicate Messages" Thunderbird plugin (https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/thunderbird/addon/956/) Evolution is powerful and misses this basic feature. I had the same problem with Evolution in 8.10, 9.04 and 9.10! The problem only occurs when I have trouble with in Internet connection during an e-mail download. Please escalate priority the priority of this but to URGENT... Businesses depend on Evolution. I have limited bandwidth and this sometimes occurs once a day. It becomes serious if you are using all your bandwith to re-download all your e-mails on a regular basis. It is especially disrupting when you are expecting an urgent business e-mail and have to wait hours for Evolution to get to the last e-mail. I have not yet found a way to prevent or overcome this problem. This is still an issue in Karmic. The problems arises when the net traffic is very high ,[torrent downloads or ... ] evolution is not able to contact the server and settings get borked! This happened several times for me , always during torrent downloads , I ended up with ~1000 mails! in my inbox To reproduce , 1. download torrent files , [since well seeded torrent downloads use up the whole bandwidth and dont allow much bandwidth for other connections] 2. Now , notice that the new e-mails are not received , 3. After some time , when the download has ended/bandwidth is less used. It has happened again, but so far I haven't been able to reproduce this bug reliably. I have saved the message (spam) that was received prior to the last redownload of all messages, and the only thing that stands out is that the Date: field in the message is quite far in the future (Thu, 03 Aug 2028 23:08:54 +). Everything else looks fine. It doesn't happen very often, and am exactly sure how it is triggered - possibly by a malformed message. This account receives quite a lot of spam. I will see if I can get more info next time it happens.
