Thanks for answering. I found that I had to install the totem/xine player instead of the totem/gstreamer. Even when I install this, the totem player would completely disappear. I then did some more searching, and I found that I had to reinstall the libdevcss2 library for my DVD player to work correctly. Once that was installed everything started working. Sebastian, Thanks for responding, but your news about Totem means that movie viewing is a major feature missing. Ubuntu Linux displays it in it s menus as Movie Player. If that is not true, then it should be removed from Ubuntu until DVD functionality is provided. This also means that there is nothing that I can use to access my DVD player on Linux. If you ask me, I am not thrilled with Linux at all. Most of the video functionality is missing on Linux. Audo is almost as bad. I am almost ready to put back Windows again.
