[Bug 1988889] Re: Screen blank timeout not adjustable

2022-09-07 Thread Jeremy Bicha
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1988087 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1988087

That's not the correct way to tell whether the Power Mode has been
changed.

The GNOME Quick Settings feature in the top right of the screen has a
complicated Power Mode switcher. The power mode button toggles between
Balanced and whichever mode you selected last. Therefore, it needs to
keep track of the last power mode selected that isn't Balanced. That's
all that dconf/gsettings value is showing you.

You can get your current power mode by running this command:
powerprofilesctl get

I'm going to close this bug since I believe the issues here are fixed.
Please feel free to open a new bug if you have additional issues.

GNOME Settings has two Screen Blank controls and only one of them works.

[Bug 1988889] Re: Screen blank timeout not adjustable

2022-09-06 Thread Marcos Alano
Thanks. It fixed almost anything. Now just Power Mode > Balanced isn't
working (Power Save and Performance are being selected as showed by
"dconf watch /" result)

** Tags added: apport-collected kinetic third-party-packages

** Description changed:

- I tried to adjust screen blank timeout in Power tab, but after I go to
- another tab and come back, the value is the same, 5 min. The same
- behavior of changing the value back occurs for "Power Mode" and "Power
- Button Behavior".

[Bug 1988889] Re: Screen blank timeout not adjustable

2022-09-06 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Please make sure you are running gnome-control-center 1:43~rc-1ubuntu1.
That update was pushed today and should fix this issue.

In the future, please use this command to report a bug like this:

ubuntu-bug gnome-control-center

It will provide additional info like the specific versions installed on
your computer and it helps people better handle your bug report.

For instance, you never said what version of Ubuntu you are using. If
you had used that command, it would have been more clear.

** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Incomplete

I kept running the command "dconf watch /" and these options don't
change any configurations. The other options, that options working fine,
change the values correctly.
