[Bug 212337] Re: Cannot import photo's from KODAK Z730

2008-04-15 Thread Martin Pitt
As of today, camera handling has been fixed, and is back in gnome-
volume-manager.

Yes it should. This (the way it is now) is very annoying.

Should Removeable Drives and Media Preferences have sensible defaults

but still no camera detected prompt

You should be able to manage that in 'removeable volumes and devices'.

2008-04-11 Thread Wenzhuo Zhang
Adding command gthumb --import-photos to the Digital Camera item on
Removeable Drives and Media Preferences re-enables the camera detected
prompt.

I consider the bug fixed although it's still not clear what caused it (I
mean the import errors).

[Bug 212337] Re: Cannot import photo's from KODAK Z730

2008-04-10 Thread Wenzhuo Zhang
Booting into old Feisty and Gutsy kernels, the camera detected prompt
doesn't still pop up, and I cannot import the photos from the camera
using F-Spot or gThumb either. (Attaching error message screenshots...)
So it is not a kernel problem. It's probably a gnome-volume-manager
issue.

[Bug 212337] Re: Cannot import photo's from KODAK Z730

2008-04-10 Thread Wenzhuo Zhang
Expected behavior: When the digital camera is plugged in, a camera
detected prompt should pop up; and if the user choose to import photos,
gThumb should be able to import without any problems.

The bug is a regression introduced in Hardy.

I just tried it again after applying updates. gThumb and F-Spot seems to be
able to import photos now, but still no camera detected prompt.
