could you try to access the ssh location using nautilus directly? does
that work correctly?

[Bug 215700] Re: Connect To Server reports Timeout reached when connecting to an SSH host with a different RSA key

2008-04-22 Thread Ross Peoples
I am unable to troubleshoot since I no longer have the old known_hosts
file. But, accessing directly seems to do the same thing as Connect to
Server, so I imagine the results would be the same. It seemed almost
like gvfs wasn't expecting this scenario and eventually timed out
because it didn't know what to do when asked the question about
confirming the connecting to a previously known host that has a
different rsa key than was expected.

If you know how to generate a new host key for an SSH server without
reinstalling the OS, I will try to reproduce the problem with a virtual
machine as the SSH server.

Thank you for your bug report. What version of Uubntu do you use? Could
you describe easy steps to trigger the bug?

[Bug 215700] Re: Connect To Server reports Timeout reached when connecting to an SSH host with a different RSA key

2008-04-19 Thread Ross Peoples
I am using Hardy with all the latest updates. To reproduce:

1. Connect to an SSH server using Places - Connect to Server... and accepting
the Host key if you are connecting to a new SSH server.
2. Disconnect from the server by unmounting.
3. On the server you just connected to and disconnected from, generate a new
RSA key or reinstall the operating system.
4. Try connecting to the SSH server again.
The connection should fail with a Timeout reached error after several seconds.
5. To fix, go to ~/.ssh and rename the file known_hosts.
6. Try connecting to the SSH server again, and this time it should ask if you
want to accept the host's RSA key.
