Oh yes, that did the trick, thanks Pedro. I didn't even know Nautilus had its own hotplug settings, I thought everything in GNOME was handled through the Preferences->Removable Devices panel. I find this separation of essentially identical functionality to be pretty confusing. thanks for your report, May you please do this steps: Open nautilus go to -> Edit -> Preferences -> Media, which program is selected at the Music Player? Does the same happens with another new user created on your system? Which program do you have selected in the Multimedia section of the gnome-default-applications-properties ?
