[Bug 236888] Re: GDM does not start gnome-session when logging in
in previous versions of ubuntu, gnome-session was used. now, if you login multiple times under the same username, gnome goes crazy, applets won't load at all or will complain thoroughly. like i said before, using xinitrc to start gnome-session seems to be a sufficient workaround, but i've not found a good reason why i should have to do this. closing the bug report won't make the problem go away. -- GDM does not start gnome-session when logging in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 236888] Re: GDM does not start gnome-session when logging in
oh, is your issue than debian and ubuntu have a wrapper which makes the process being named x-session-manager and not gnome-session in the processus list? how is that an issue in any way? -- GDM does not start gnome-session when logging in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 236888] Re: GDM does not start gnome-session when logging in
Currently hardy, but it was also present in gutsy. There's no errors, per se. I just don't think it should be done this way. I can login fine, everything appears to work correctly, but there's no process for gnome- session. It doesn't appear that it's ever started. Like I said, I can work around using .xinitrc, and it's not a critical issue, by any means. -- GDM does not start gnome-session when logging in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

thank you for your bug report, what ubuntu version do you use? what session do you select on the login screen? could you attach your .xsession-errors when getting the issue? ** Changed in: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low Assignee: (unassigned) => Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New => Incomplete -- GDM does not start gnome-session when logging in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
