[Bug 246038] Re: evolution 2.22.2 expunges deleted messages when leaving folder
Thank you for reporting this bug and helping make Ubuntu better. I am guessing you meant IMAP instead of MAPI, am I correct? If so, then this is expected: when you are deleting an IMAP mail, the delete command is sent to GMAIL, and it is GMAIL that deletes it. Immediately. Evolution has no control over it. I would expect, though, that the deleted email would still be available on GMAIL's deleted folder. ** Changed in: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium Status: New => Incomplete -- evolution 2.22.2 expunges deleted messages when leaving folder https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/246038 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 246038] Re: evolution 2.22.2 expunges deleted messages when leaving folder
** Description changed: Binary package hint: evolution I have evolution set up to connect to gmail with MAPI. When I delete a message it shows the message struck through (I've got this option set, but the problem occurred when the option was set to hide deleted messages). For any messages that are marked for deletion, as soon as I leave the folder it expunges them. I do not have the option set to expunge upon exit (even if I did, I would expect that "deleted" messages should be available until I exit the program. I haven't tried setting up the application to connect through some other method, e.g., POP, so I don't know if that setting has anything to do - with it. + with it. [JKT: I set up a yahoo account using POP. It uses a separate + set of folders in the client, of course, but does not exhibit the + behavior described above, i.e., deleted messages remain in the folder + when leaving the folder.] Let me know if you need additional information.
