[Bug 249852] Re: search-as-you-type doesn't always work

2009-02-18 Thread JorgeBurgos
I too have this problem. It is hard to replicate but occurs about 30% of the
time I open an instance of nautilus.
Please reopen this bug.

I have the same problem, search-as-you-type doesn't work unless you
click on the location field and then back to the area where the files
are listed.

do you use the browser or spatial mode? that works correctly on my
intrepid installation using both mode, maybe the bug has already been
fixed in the newer version or it could be specific to some of your
configuration

2008-07-18 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include
enough information. You may find it helpful to read How to report bugs
effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be
grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems.
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures
At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 249852] Re: search-as-you-type doesn't always work

2008-07-18 Thread old_toby
ok, I found out something.

Bug is in Hardy Heron with all updates.

How to reproduce:

1. open nautilus (just after the system started or after you haven't used it
for some time, maybe half an hour)
2. type some letters

Expected behaviour:
The typed letters should show up at the bottom right of the nautilus window,
and the first folder/file that starts with the typed letters should be
highlighted.

Actual behaviour:
nothing happens

I just found out that it works if you klick in the address bar and press
enter. It also works then the following times you open nautilus. But if
you don't use nautilus for some time, it stops working again.
