[Bug 250172] Re: No "On Battery Power" tab after inserting battery

2010-10-17 Thread Oz123
It feels like a waste of time reporting bugs, if they are not attented
anyway :-(

Today I installed ubuntu 10.10 on a blinea laptop. It came pre-installed
with ubuntu 9.10 which was working perfectly on it.

Now, with 10.10 power management is just a joke. I the above bug, no tab
of "on-battery-power" in gnome-power-manager.

I restarted gnome-power-manager, with
ma...@marie-laptop:~$ ps aux | grep power

ma...@marie-laptop:~$ kill 4038

indeed, typing gnome-power-manager in terminal after that has allowed me, to
access the "on-battery-power"

[Bug 250172] Re: No "On Battery Power" tab after inserting battery

2010-01-16 Thread martin
Karmic, when booting with AC connected followed by disconnecting AC,
there is no "On Battery" tab in Power Manager.

This is very annoying, because by default Karmic dims the laptop screen
to a level I can only describe as barely-readable after a few seconds,
and there is no way of adjusting this behaviour.

I am seeing this behavior in Karmic, when booting with AC connected.
Killing & restarting gnome-power-manager cures the problem.

[Bug 250172] Re: No "On Battery Power" tab after inserting battery

2008-11-09 Thread Günther Köckerandl
I can confirm this behaviour. If gnome-power-manager is started while
the battery is not plugged in, then the "On Battery Power" tab never
appears. However, G-P-M does seem to recognize the battery as the status
icon is updated and the battery-related options now appear in the
context menu. See g-p-m_nobat.txt

If, on the other hand, I start g-p-m while the battery is plugged in,
the "On Battery Power" tab is permanently available. Even if I unplug
the battery, the tab remains visible. See g-p-m_withbat.txt

lshal -m does not produce any output while (un)plugging the battery.

[Bug 250172] Re: No "On Battery Power" tab after inserting battery

2008-10-17 Thread Ebuntor
Hi,

I added the gnome-power-bugreport.sh output and the gpm.log. For the gpm.log I
entered this command: "gnome-power-manager --verbose --no-daemon 2>&1 | tee
gpm.debug.log.txt" I hope that is the correct command.
The output says the battery is present which is incorrect.

The gnome-power-bugreport.sh output:
