2008-08-01 Thread Sebastien Bacher
no, still not confirming, it takes time to go through accounts and the
statusbar indicates "indexing" but it does search correctly. maybe you
could open your bug on bugzilla.gnome.org directly since that's likely
an upstream issue and people who write the code might have better reply
there

[Bug 252851] Re: evolution -c calendar no search in all accounts

2008-08-01 Thread mabab
1. I start evolution in the terminal with "evolution -c calendar". Evolution
starts with the calendarview.
2. I change to the mailview.
3. In the right corner on top of the side I chosse "all accounts".
4. In the searchfield I choose "message contains".
5. In the searchfield I type a word, for example "the".
6. Return.
7. The view changes, but there is no search.

This is the output of the terminal:
evolution -c calendar
evolution-shell-Message: Killing old version of evolution-data-server...

I am using various accounts. But the same problem exists when I create a
new user. I tried the same on another laptop, same problem.

[Bug 252851] Re: evolution -c calendar no search in all accounts

2008-07-31 Thread mabab
No, it doesn't, there are no results.
When I start evolution with "evolution -c calendar" from the terminal, it finds
messages, when I select current folder. When I choose current account, the
results are only messages of the current folder, messages of the other folders
aren't found except they were shown as a previous result. When I choose all
accounts, there are no results. I tried the same in a new Testaccount, same
result.

[Bug 252851] Re: evolution -c calendar no search in all accounts

2008-07-30 Thread mabab
You can start evolution with a special component, which window will open.
man evolution:
 "OPTIONS
   -c, --component=COMPONENT
Start Evolution by activating the desired component. COMPONENT
is one of ‘mail’, ‘calendar’, ‘contacts’, ‘tasks’, ‘memos’.

Cause I want the calender to be opened, when I start evolution, I start
evolution with the command "evolution -c calendar" (Sorry, I see now,
there was a typo in the description, headline is OK).

I start evolution with the command "evolution -c calendar", to be
greeted by my tasks and the birthdays of my friends, I want to use the
search for all accounts in the mail window (same folder, same account is
OK - I am using the German version, so I don't know, if the terms are
correct), the search starts, the folders of my mails are not active, but
there is no real search. I hope you understand, where the problem is.

thank you for your bug report, "calender" is not a valid component, what
are you trying to search and where? could you describe easy steps to
trigger the issue?

[Bug 252851] Re: evolution -c calendar no search in all accounts

2008-07-29 Thread Nathan Handler
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which is important
for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn
more about finding the right package at [WWW]
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage . I have classified this bug as a
bug in evolution.
For future reference you might be interested to know that a lot of applications
have bug reporting functionality built in to them. This can be accessed via the
Report a Problem option in the Help menu for the application with which you are
having an issue. You can learn more about this feature at [WWW]
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.
