thank you for your bug report but that's not a bug, what else do you
expect? nautilus to display a directory which is not available or the
dialog to close? it used to close and lot of users reported bugs about
nautilus crashing because they were very confused by the behaviour, now
it just goes to a directory available under the one you were browsing

Yes, I can understand both situations to be confusing to users, but I
don't think it is an improvement that it now goes to a different
directory.

The best solution I can think of would be to close the window and show a
notification that it was closed because the device was removed.

And oddly enough if I do the same with my iPhone, I get dropped in my
home folder.
