2008-10-18 Thread tigrux
Same here.
  I ran sudo hal-disable-polling --enable --device /dev/cdrom
and the cdrom was properly monitored.

I would close it as invalid.

[Bug 278598] Re: cdrom/dvd names are not correct

2008-10-17 Thread Nathan
Hmm, I found the problem.

A while ago I ran powertop, and it advised me to disable polling on the
cdrom drive. And I did so.

For some reason, I was thinking that maybe that was the problem now, and
I reenabled polling on the drive. Now the behaviour works as expected.

I don't know of this is intended behaviour of disabling polling, so I'm
not closing this bug. If it is intended this bug may be closed.

the log shows the same volume label too, reassigning to hal, that's
either due to it or to linux

This is my monitor list.

I insterted a BBC dvd, ejected it, and inserted DWAALSPOREN, (but that
label wasn't displayed), and ejected that one too.

I think the attachment names speak for themselves (Oh, I had to install
gvfs-bin before I could execute gvfs-mount)

If you have any questions, please ask
