This bug is present on Ubuntu UNE 10.04 LTS and 10.10 running on a netbook with screen resolution of 1024 x 600 (wide screen.) Problem only evident with GNOME desktop. Both mail and contacts scale correctly. However, when switching to calendar the window is larger that 1024 x 600. Consequently, the switcher icons drop off the screen. The Evolution team suggest to use evolution --express on netbooks. However the express mode is not as usable as the full version, and we can not take for granted that novice users know about it. Yes. It make Evolution not usable on 1024*768 4/3 screen. And after having the problem, even to go back to email functionality does not return : after being thresholded, no way to click on anything. So in such a case, we're forced to use an other email client (thunderbird...). Very old problem that remain unsolved through many releases. So I have upgraded to intrepid now. The problem still persists, but in the meantime I have found a workaround (which also works on hardy): If you check View/Switcher Appearance/Hide Buttons the minimum size of the window seems to shrink and it can be properly maximized on the screen. Yes, it happens after I switch to the calendar. Before that everything works fine. When I disable compiz, the window no loger moves on every click, but it is still larger than the screen, so there is stuff missing at the bottom.
