I just tried with Ubuntu jaunty 9.04 and I can't reproduce it anymore. Maybe fixed? Can someone else confirm? I had the same issue, it generated excessive interrupts and was frozen from time to time, it even restarted sometimes. I tried the fix on #296075 and it worked fine. Fix: It turns out that disabling display dimming seems to fix these problems. I suspect that this is a HAL bug. Could you kill hald and see if that is still the case. I reported a similar problem which got dup'd to this bug. Not certain
they are related yet, but I do have one other detail to add. If I 'sudo
rmmod gspca_vc032x the gnome-power-manager wakeups fall in frequency.
I do think there may be another problem with gnome-power-manager. If I strace
gnome-power-manager, I get:

So, a 100mSec does in fact seem too short, but it is no longer caught by
powertop once I remove the camera driver for my Sony laptop. I can keep
powertop up and gnome-power-manager running with no ill effect.
