Public bug reported: Binary package hint: rhythmbox Rhytmbox fails playing songs from my mtp device. I can see the songs, add them to the play que, but when trying to play, an error is displayed: "couldn't start playback Problem occured without error being set. This is a bug in rhythembox or gstreamer." when started Rhythembox throught terminal i see the message: (rhythmbox:24432): Rhythmbox-CRITICAL **: rb_player_gst_play: assertion `mp->priv->playbin != NULL' failed Hope this is sufficient info to have a look at this.
