I'm getting a similar problem, only I can reproduce mine every single time in four steps: open Brasero, click the button to open an audio project, navigate to my MP3 folder, double click on a song = screen goes dark and brasero stops responding. I have to then force quit. I noticed that this will happen every single time if I click on an MP3 file other than the one at the top of the list first. If I click on the one at the top first, it'll add it to the burn list and let me play if I want and then I can stop it and click on some other ones and sometimes even finish a whole CD without it freezing, but sometimes it will freeze before I can finish a whole disc. However, if I navigate to my MP3 folder and click on any file other than the one at the top, it freezes every single time. Well I can't be certain this is the same problem but I have similar symptoms browsing a large tree of flac files. The latest crash (running with the -g switch from the CLI to catch the debug output) appears to show it falling over on a shell script in one of my folders : This appears to be repeatable - ie open a new audio project, then navigate to the top level of a tree which contains both music files and some other items (in my case some scripts). Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. A debug trace would be useful in this case. Open a terminal (Applications Accessories Terminal) Type: brasero -g ~/brasero.log Hit Enter. Then brasero should open up, reproduce your bug. And then close brasero. Go into your home folder and find the brasero.log file.
