Confirming this on a fully updated intrepid. This is a major annoyance
when using IMAP, as it takes a long time to recover (you have to
manually cancel all of the failed ping states before it tries again).

Sebastian and friends, please link to the upstream bug report before
marking this invalid.

I can confirm this problem. The feature is still described in the
Evolution documentation, where it's called "Automatic Network State
Handling".
