Confirming this on a fully updated intrepid. This is a major annoyance when using IMAP, as it takes a long time to recover (you have to manually cancel all of the failed ping states before it tries again). I can confirm this problem. The feature is still described in the Evolution documentation, where it's called "Automatic Network State Handling".
