First of all I'm sorry for the really really late reply. I tried to purge and reinstall both packages and so also main packages like gnome and all dependencies but it doesn't work. I'm running Ubuntu 386 on a amd64 processor. Do you mean that? Looks like you upgraded libvte9 but kept the old gnome-terminal.
