[Bug 333396] Re: Expanded auto-hide panel at bottom still subtracted from desktop size
yeah, I've been getting this too. I'm on a full size desktop. For me, it seems like the declared screen border isn't moving correctly when the panels autohide. There is this snap to place feature that snaps the border of a window, which has been on computers for many years. In this case, the problem is that the snapping happens at the location where the panel used to be, when it should move to the edge of the screen. -- Expanded auto-hide panel at bottom still subtracted from desktop size https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-panel in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

thank you for your bug report, do you use the desktop effects option? ** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low Assignee: (unassigned) = Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: New = Incomplete -- Expanded auto-hide panel at bottom still subtracted from desktop size https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

No, I've disabled desktop effects, no compiz or anything. -- Expanded auto-hide panel at bottom still subtracted from desktop size https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

do you get the issue using compiz? that seems a wm bug rather than a gnome-panel one -- Expanded auto-hide panel at bottom still subtracted from desktop size https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Sebastien Bacher wrote: do you get the issue using compiz? that seems a wm bug rather than a gnome-panel one With compiz the behaviour is gone. Note that I can't properly reproduce anymore now -- the windows start out wrong but then get corrected to the right size a bit later. Perhaps I only see it because I have a dog slow machine (an Atom netbook). :-) -- Expanded auto-hide panel at bottom still subtracted from desktop size https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
