Thanks for the link Milos.. i followed the instructions and when i run run gimp, it starts up and once i reproduce the bug, everything freezes, i can't hit ctrl-C in the gdb window. i have to go to another virtual terminal, log in and killall gdb.. when i do that, this is what i get in the debug text file (if you see a line with just quotation marks, it means the line above it repeats for around 20 or more lines): -- (gdb) run gimp Starting program: /usr/bin/gimp gimp [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled] (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) [New Thread 0x7f598a1e0780 (LWP 15401)] (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) [New Thread 0x7f597f813950 (LWP 15402)] [New Thread 0x7f597f012950 (LWP 15403)] (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) (no debugging symbols found) [New Thread 0x7f597c74e950 (LWP 15405)] [Thread 0x7f597c74e950 (LWP 15405) exited] Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
