[Bug 336672] Re: screensaver steals focus - nvidia 180
I note that savers like glschool don't respond to normal SIGTERM signals at the moment either. This seems to be related. -- screensaver steals focus - nvidia 180 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 336672] Re: screensaver steals focus - nvidia 180
I can confirm this behavior on fully updated Jaunty (3/4/09), AMD64. ** Changed in: gnome-screensaver (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- screensaver steals focus - nvidia 180 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 336672] Re: screensaver steals focus - nvidia 180
I wonder, is there a workaround now that will allow me to disable the screensaver from the command line? -- screensaver steals focus - nvidia 180 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 336672] Re: screensaver steals focus - nvidia 180
also on amd64... My work around was switching to nvidia 173 and disabling the screensaver, you could then go back to nvidia 180 if you chose. I however stayed on 173 till it becomes more stable as I stated in the bug report. @Steve Enzer sudo killall gnome-screensaver I haven't tested this method but it's claimed to work #To disable the screensaver: gconftool-2 -s /apps/gnome-screensaver/idle_activation_enabled --type=bool false #To disable monitor sleeping: gconftool-2 -s /apps/gnome-power-manager/ac_sleep_display --type=int 0 I hope that helped somewhat -- screensaver steals focus - nvidia 180 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Or you can just set the screensaver to blank-only using the command line. This is what I have done (allows you still to use the screen lock, if that's important to you): gconftool-2 -s /apps/gnome-screensaver/mode --type=String blank-only -- screensaver steals focus - nvidia 180 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/336672 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
