2009-04-21 Thread Sebastien Bacher
do you still get the issue using 2.26.1? if that's the case could you
open a GNOME bug?

2009-04-21 Thread Saku Ytti
I'm not sure when it got fixed, as I just added 'manually' with ssh-add for
long while, but just last week I tried it on my laptop,
and worked just fine, so it has indeed been fixed somewhere down the line.
Thank you for your work.

gnome-keyring_2.24.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb also fixes the issue. This is
consistent on both of my Jaunty
boxes. I can fix it by downgrading and break again by upgrading. I was
surprised seeing 2.25.92 is over
twice the size of 2.24.1, so obviously some major changes have happened.

2009-03-09 Thread Sebastien Bacher
you seem to be the only one to get the dialog, seahorse doesn't do ssh
though that's gnome-keyring and are you sure you use it and not ssh-add?
could you run "env | grep -i ssh"?

gnome-keyring_2.24.1-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb also fixes the issue. This is
consistent on both of my Jaunty
boxes. I can fix it by downgrading and break again by upgrading. I was
surprised seeing 2.25.92 is over
twice the size of 2.24.1, so obviously some major changes have happened.

Yeah I experience the fingerprint being listed there always, but as
far as #261375 looks, I don't see user actually experiencing any
issues, so looks more like cosmetic issue.
For my bug, I definitely experience issue, I simply can not login
with ssh key if seahorse prompts for it, only if I have before hand
manually added it.

Thanks.

My apologies, I indeed did not check which process is giving the dialog,
as I couldn't type outside the dialog, I unfortunately simply assumed
gnome-keyring has been wholly deprecated in favour of seahorse.
Now as I verified by sshing in through another computer, it is indeed
gnome-keyring-ask.

Anyhow, I reinstalled jaunty on laptop today, to get EXT4, and
the problem persists on fresh install.

I'll try to find more time to investigate it during this week. This may
already have been reported too, as there are similarities.
gnome-keyring-daemon starts to eat 100% of cpu once I've given correct
key for the ssh key and stays that way indefinitely or until I attempt
another ssh session, after which gome-keyring-daemon will crash.

Thanks.

I still haven't done any proper investigation on what is going on, but
getting gnome-keyring from debian does fix the issue for me
(sudo dpkg -i gnome-keyring_2.24.1-2_amd64.deb
libgcrypt11_1.4.4-2_amd64.deb libtasn1-3_1.8-1_amd64.deb)

Yeah I experience the fingerprint being listed there always, but as
far as #261375 looks, I don't see user actually experiencing any
issues, so looks more like cosmetic issue.
For my bug, I definitely experience issue, I simply can not login
with ssh key if seahorse prompts for it, only if I have before hand
manually added it.

Thanks.

ssh keys only work if manually added with 'ssh-add' not if seahorse prompts for
