2012-04-06 Thread Anirudh Shukla
UBUNTU 11.10 and am still having trouble setting up custom (user
defined) paper size. When using LibreOffice and trying to print on
custom sized paper --> The option is not available when you hit print
and try to change paper size in printer properties.

2010-10-11 Thread Teej
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner.
There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and
your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a
lot if you could test the current Ubuntu version (10.10). If you can test it,
and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs
by running apport-collect , and any other logs that are relevant for
this particular issue.

[Bug 348202] Re: Impossible to print to custom page size in Evince

2009-07-09 Thread Daniel Holth
This problem has been part of my Linux printing experience since the
first time I got a Linux-compatible printer years ago. Wedding
invitations? Nope. Birthday party? No. Envelopes? Forget about it! Every
major event in my life is marred by a bad printing experience.

Now in Jaunty I try to print onto tiny paper from Inkscape, Scribus,
evince, okular, no luck, the smaller page is printed on the bottom left
corner of a Letter sized piece of paper instead of where it belongs.

As a workaround I've given up and taken to formatting Letter sized
documents with a small portion top center the size of the smaller paper
I am using.

/Maybe/ if I recompile my Samsung ML-2510's .ppd to actually include the
paper size I want to print on things get ever so slightly better.

I've already waited a decade for you to get better, Linux printing. Will
you be ready for me in another decade when I have to print school
graduation announcements?

Best wishes for these guys: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/CommonPrintingDialog

[Bug 348202] Re: Impossible to print to custom page size in Evince

2009-04-12 Thread Sebastian
As I noted in #357286, pagesize isn't reflected correclty by cups (at
least, not in Jaunty). The only setting that has an effect is
/etc/pagesize. Settings from the device options in cups or via printing
dialog are untaken.

[Bug 348202] Re: Impossible to print to custom page size in Evince

2009-03-25 Thread Till Kamppeter
CUPS itself treats custom paper sizes correctly. You can do it via the
command line

lpr -o PageSize=Custom.10x20cm

The problem is the GUI implementation (most probably in GTK) for setting
a custom size from the printing dialog.

Moving to GTK ...
