[Bug 35032] poor colours on Language Selector window

The first commenter interpreted the big to be about a different window, which I then replied to in my first comment. From the GDM login, choose select language. A new window opens. Note the colour of the selector menus before you click on them. Note the colour after clicking and the selectable items have appeared (this is the state the screenshot above was taken in). On the login screen select Options - Select Language. You get a new window with pop-ups to select the language. The background of the window is tan (as I recall) and the pop-ups are dark grey.
