I have updated my Dapper yesterday evening and fevourishly installed the gstreamer0.10.3 release. I spent the following couple of hours checking my Flac files. I could not help playing them again and again! It just works perfectly. I'll only add one word: Bravo! Et Merci once again. Thanks so much for this precious help. I'll try to recompress my numerous .flac files until a new version of gstreamer comes and correct the problem. By the way, can you give me the correct command line to it properly. I fear missing up all my work. As fo the "terrible user interface" of the file host, I do agree with that and promise to find a better one next time. Confirmed, if I take a file of mine which plays OK, and convert it to one of these FLAC files without length metadata, Rhythmbox refuses to play it. What a terrible user interface. Anyway I have your file now, and indeed rhythmbox won't play it. This is not a registration page for the service. This is a free service I use to host my files. On this page you will see: "you want to download filea.flac". "filea.flac" is the name of my file. To get it, click on the "free" applet at the bottom of the page. You will be ask to wait 30 seconds and you'll see a countdown. Then enter the tree colored letters or numbers you will be asked to and click the "download from..." knob.
