Yes, there is a script which works fine - see bug #354264 of which this
bug is a duplicate.

Just to chime in - I've seen this too. But why is it marked invalid
by BWU?

Is there a way to move images from $HOME and into the right directory
structure without losing tags etc?

[Bug 367830] Re: F-Spot lost the folder structure in 9.04

2009-05-10 Thread svsig
I also have this problem. It occurred after upgrading to Jaunty. F-spot
now ignores the import settings in Preferences and places the photos
directly under my /home catalog. I hope this can be fixed soon, I am
quite dependant of F-spot.

2009-05-09 Thread dah66
I'm having similar problems. When I try to load photos from my camera
via F-Spot, it says they are being copied, but after it's done, there
are no photos in the folder on my hard drive. If I drag and drop the
photos, I can get them onto my hard drive, but F-Spot is NOT working
like it did before I upgraded to Jaunty.

I see this too, and I agree with Christian as to what's happening. Also
dragging and dropping photos to import them works correctly.

[Bug 367830] Re: F-Spot lost the folder structure in 9.04

2009-05-03 Thread Christian Keil
Same problem here. But it seems to be more subtle.

There are two different import dialogs:

1) I have my SD card mounted, click Import in f-spot, and select my SD card as
the source
2) I insert my SD card and select Open F-Spot Photo Manager from the upcoming
dialog (whether f-spot is already running or not)

Using option 1 everything is fine. The problem occurs with option 2. The
resulting import dialog from f-spot contains a target location and every
photo is just put in that directory without the year/month/day
structure.

This also happens for a new user.

2009-04-28 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thanks for the report shovelhead, that works fine for me I've imported a
few thousand images and they get copied into the right folder as
year/month/day into the Photos directory, Could you please try with
another new user created on your system and report back? thanks in
advance.

I just updated to 9.04 and f-spot even does not use the folder selected
under preferences any more (/home/achim/photos) but just imports
anything to /home/achim/ (~). The setting is ignored!
