[Bug 373851] Re: for FOLDER, "open with "gnome-terminal" DOES NOT do a "cd" to the FOLDER

2009-06-02 Thread Baptiste Mille-Mathias
You shouldn't use "open with" with terminal, it won't work like you
want.

If you have already Installed nautilus-open-terminal and restart
nautilus, right click on a folder you'll see "Open in Terminal" or
something like that, and it'll do what you want.

PS; no need to use uppercase, I'm not blind and I can read lower case
without problem, and uppercase is really to avoid, because following RFC
1855 [http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc1855] "UPPER CASE LOOKS AS IF YOU'RE
SHOUTING.".

Thanks.

Closing as invalid.

The description is not clear?
OK, let me try again.
What I WANT is to locate a folder in the file system, and then
RIGHT-CLICK "TERMINAL" and as a result find myself with a NEW TERMINAL
WINDOW OPEN "at" the designated folder ("at" in the sense of "cd").

This is not what happens. Right-click on "terminal" merely opens a
"terminal" window "at" "~".

2009-06-02 Thread Peter Belmont
Thanks very much for the kind help, and sorry about SHOUTING. I suppose
I want to distinguish technical words from English, but I'll stop doing
it that way.

2009-06-01 Thread Peter Belmont
The description is not clear?
OK, let me try again.
What I WANT is to locate a folder in the file system, and then
RIGHT-CLICK "TERMINAL" and as a result find myself with a NEW TERMINAL
WINDOW OPEN "at" the designated folder ("at" in the sense of "cd").

This is not what happens. Right-click on "terminal" merely opens a
"terminal" window "at" "~".
