[Bug 391978] Re: Clicking whit the right button in the root directory of any removable disc don't appears "volume" and "drive" menu

2009-06-25 Thread Diego

** Description changed:

When I go to "Equipo" (my computer) and open the "propiedades" (properties)
window of any mounted removable volume, a menu very interesting appears: I can
change the default mount-point of that media and of all the volumes inserted in
his drive.
If I right click in the root directory of any mounted volume, and I open the
"propiedades" (properties) window, the menu isn't the expected. The menu is the
same but I haven't the mentioned options (the last two tabs aren't present)
which must be the las two tabs, it's incomplete.

If I try clicking in the properties menu of any disc from "mi
escritorio" (my desktop), the menu is the first again, which is the
  complete menu.

When I open the properties menu of any mounted volume clicking in his
mount-point folder and selecting the submenu the incomplete menu appears
(usually sited in the /media folder) but it's recognized as volume.

Some times, the complete menu is very hard to find

- Summarizing, I have 3 types of properties menus: complete menu, complete
- menu without the last two tabs (and it's in the most visited place and
- where the people normally must search this) and the incomplete menu
- (which it's reasonable because the volume isn't mounted)
+ Summarizing, I have 3 types of properties menus: complete menu [menu 1
+ image], incomplete menu of mounted volumes, it haven't the last two tabs
+ [menu 2 image] (and it's in the most visited place and where the people
+ normally must search this options) and the incomplete menu [menu 3
+ image](which is reasonable because the volume isn't mounted, it is as
+ the last, but without the graph of used space)

Also, could be an interesting feature add the ability to open the
properties menu from the side panel, where are the places of the system
(I can unmount the volumes, I can't see the properties)

[Bug 391978] Re: Clicking whit the right button in the root directory of any removable disc don't appears "volume" and "drive" menu

2009-06-25 Thread Diego
Hello Sebastien.

It's ever reproducible.
The difference between the windows appears:
window 1 (appears menu1.png, without the tab 'compartir' or share)- when I
click in the properties of any volume sited in the computer (as example,
running nautilus 'computer:///', clicking with the right button in any mounted
volume and selecting properties menu) or doing the same in any volume mounted,
but selecting from the desktop, where (if the configuration is ok, usually
it's) are the mounted volumes

window 2 (appears menu2.png, without the tabs "abrir con" or open with, drive
and volume)- when I click in the properties of the background, as example,
running nautilus '/media/disk', (where /media/disk need to be any mounted
volume), then right clicking and then clicking in the properties menu
window 3 (appears menu3.png)- when I try to see the properties of any unmounted
volume

Greetings!

[Bug 391978] Re: Clicking whit the right button in the root directory of any removable disc don't appears "volume" and "drive" menu

2009-06-26 Thread Diego
I'm opening properties of the same object (a volume), but of different forms.
The system recognize it as different places but it knows I'm opening a volume
and the options are of the volume (I have the option to unmount), the changes
affects the volume, then, the menu must be the same. but, from inside (right
clicking in the background, to select the properties of the volume) I have the
option to unmount and share, but not to manage the drive and volume, and from
computer (right clicking in the volume and then clicking in properties), I have
the option to unmount and change volume name and drive, but not to share.
Nautilus should use as the same because it's

The only difference is from where I'm opening it

(I was wrong and taked a screenshot of another drive in the third, but
the only one difference is where it displays 131,1 MiB should say 3,9

2009-06-26 Thread Sebastien Bacher
you are opening the properties of a volume in the computer location in
one case and the properties of the directory where the volume is mounted
in the other case, those are represented differently in nautilus, they
have different icons and they are different objects, that really doesn't
seem to be a bug

[Bug 391978] Re: Clicking whit the right button in the root directory of any removable disc don't appears "volume" and "drive" menu

2009-07-01 Thread Diego
Hello again Sebastien, sorry for the time, I was busy, I'm updating

Yes, the properties aren't the same, but it should be the same, it's
confusing

1 - I'm opening the properties of a folder, but I can unmount it (unmounting a
folder I can unmount a volume? from the inside, from the outside, and from the
volume)
2 - How can I share a volume, sharing a folder? And if it's, why the volume
haven't the option to share, but the same folder yes?
3 - If I'm root, how can I do the same work? (the "computer" location is
disabled for any users, as root)

In any cases, his behavior is as folder, in any cases have features of
the folder and of volume, and in other cases his behavior is as volume.
It must be the same, and not searching the location where the behavior
is as I need. And the computer isn't very popular, and this location is
very complicated to find (even, I think it's important for new users,
and it could be considered as 'one hundred per cuts', but it's my idea
:S)

Sory if my explanation isn't very good, my native language is Spanish
(I'm from Argentina)

Greetings!

[Bug 391978] Re: Clicking whit the right button in the root directory of any removable disc don't appears "volume" and "drive" menu

2009-06-26 Thread Diego
The important images are the first and the second, the third is normal
(I was wrong and taked a screenshot of another drive in the third, but
the only one difference is where it displays 131,1 MiB should say 3,9
GiB, this data is irrelevant)

[Bug 391978] Re: Clicking whit the right button in the root directory of any removable disc don't appears "volume" and "drive" menu

+ image](which is reasonable because the volume isn't mounted, it is as

** Description changed:

When I go to "Equipo" (my computer) and open the "propiedades" (properties)
window of any mounted removable volume, a menu very interesting appears: I can
change the default mount-point of that media and of all the volumes inserted in
his drive.
If I right click in the root directory of any mounted volume, and I open the
"propiedades" (properties) window, the menu isn't the expected. The menu is the

+ incomplete menu of mounted volumes, it haven't the last two tabs [menu 2
+ image] (and it's in the most visited place and where the people normally
+ must search this options) and the incomplete menu [menu 3 image](which
+ is reasonable because the volume isn't mounted, it is as the last, but
+ without the graph of used space)

Also, could be an interesting feature add the ability to open the
properties menu from the side panel, where are the places of the system
(I can unmount the volumes, I can't see the properties)

Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Please answer these questions:

 * Is this reproducible?
 * If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?

This will help us to find and resolve the problem.

[Bug 391978] Re: Clicking whit the right button in the root directory of any removable disc don't appears "volume" and "drive" menu

2009-06-25 Thread Diego
Hello Sebastien.

It's ever reproducible.
The difference between the windows appears:
window 1 (appears menu1.png, without the tab 'compartir' or share)- when I
click in the properties of any volume sited in the computer (as example,
running nautilus 'computer:///', clicking with the right button in any mounted
volume and selecting properties menu) or doing the same in any volume mounted,
but selecting from the desktop, where (if the configuration is ok, usually
it's) are the mounted volumes

window 2 (appears menu2.png, without the tabs "abrir con" or open with, drive
and volume)- when I click in the properties of the background, as example,
running nautilus '/media/disk', (where /media/disk need to be any mounted
volume), then right clicking and then clicking in the properties menu
window 3 (appears menu3.png)- when I try to see the properties of any unmounted
volume

Greetings!

you are opening properties of different object, directories against
devices, how is that a bug that those are different?

The important images are the first and the second, the third is normal
(I was wrong and taked a screenshot of another drive in the third, but
the only one difference is where it displays 131,1 MiB should say 3,9
GiB, this data is irrelevant)

Greetings!
