2010-12-09 Thread Bogdan
Steve, you may want to try Kamal's PPA for a fix of #568611 - see here
https://launchpad.net/~kamalmostafa/+archive/linux-kamal-mjgbacklight.
Please do report at #568611 if you had success.

[Bug 392458] Re: system becomes unresponsive when changing screen brightness with keybord hotkeys

2010-12-09 Thread Steve
I have a Packard Bell Easynote TJ68 with Mobile IntelĀ® 4 Series Express
Chipset graphics installed.

I am running Ubuntu 10.10 and using max visual effects (extra) really
well.

The only problem seems to be lack of control re display brightness.
Brightness slider in Gnome power management does not work and also the
Fn + up & down keys have no effect.

Think I may need to get some shades!

Sorry I can't test for this bug anymore, because I've changed computer
ever since. I don't experience that problem on Acer Aspire One.

[Bug 392458] Re: system becomes unresponsive when changing screen brightness with keybord hotkeys

2010-10-15 Thread Pedro Villavicencio
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. A new version of GNOME Power Manager is available on
Maverick and we are wondering if this bug is still an issue for you with
that version? Could you please test and comment back? Thanks in advance.
